Desert Canyon’s New Owners

While at the Recreational Property Investment Show in Bellevue last weekend, I chatted with Steve Kelly at Premier One Properties about Desert Canyon and their new owners. The Wenatchee World also had an article about it on January 15 you can get
here.

At any rate, Steve confirmed that the new owners, Homestead Northwest Inc., are preparing to restore the golf course and build some attractive new homes and patio homes. They currently have some on the market at pretty attractive pricing as well.

It is great for the whole area for this resort to be moving past its former difficulties and I look forward to seeing it in its new glory.

Mortgage rates are coming down, time to buy?

Mortgage rates have fallen below 6% for only the second time in 2 years, with 30 year rates at 5.87% according to this article.

The lowest mortgage rates for a generation is one of the factors that caused the housing boom in the first place. So where are we, rates are getting lower again, foreign investors are entering the market due to the dollar’s valuation and prices are lower than anywhere in the recent past. Other than the continued press, things don’t look too bad for bargains. Is around this time the point where folks a couple years from now wish they bought?
